Summary
In this newly created leadership role, the Director of Information Technology (IT) will be a key member of the organization reporting to the Senior Director of Finance and Administration. The Director of Information Technology will create and manage the strategic direction for our company’s information technology (IT) operations, ensuring the department provides efficient and effective technology services throughout the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Create and manage IT roadmap and strategy that will properly align with business goals and objectives
  • Lead development and implementation processes for the organization’s IT systems and department
  • Establish priorities for systems design and implementation to develop new and/or modify the company’s information processing systems
  • Provide guidance on the development of IT policies
  • Develop and implement business continuity protocols to minimize disruption to business operations in the event of emergency situations or data loss
  • Establish efficiency and efficacy standards, providing recommendations for improvement of IT infrastructure
  • Analyze IT infrastructure and systems performance to assess operating costs productivity levels, upgrade requirements, and other metrics and needs
  • Oversee security of systems, networks, and enterprise information
  • Responsible for managing overall Cyber Security strategy for the organization. Facilitate IT security audits and investigations
  • Develop and maintain relationships with external IT vendors and service providers
  • Coordinate and manage multisite IT systems via enterprise resource planning (ERP)
  • Manage one FTE (manager level)
  • Additional duties and responsibilities as required

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience
  • At least 5 years of experience managing an IT department including experience in the Biotech industry
  • Exposure to a GxP compliant environment
  • Technical experience with QA
  • Proficient in latest technology for IT systems and management
  • Prior experience building IT functions that enable the business through strategic support and decision making
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent analytical and management skills
  • Experience writing/reviewing IT policies
  • Prior experience is required managing systems and/or software in Life Science
  • Through understanding of IT and practical applications to support the company’s goals
